The Mixstory FX Multi-Effects DJ Processor is a dedicated stereo effects unit designed for insertion in a DJ mixer’s effects loop — providing the external processing depth that a mixer’s built-in effects section cannot match and preserving the dry signal path integrity that purist DJs and audio engineers require when a clean, unprocessed channel is needed alongside processed channels. Mixstory has designed the FX unit around the effects algorithms that DJ performance most commonly demands: reverb, echo, delay, flanger, phaser, auto-pan, ring modulator, bitcrusher, comb filter, and Mixstory’s proprietary pitch-trail effect, which sustains a harmonically related pitch alongside the source signal at a user-controlled interval. Each of the 32 factory effects is accessible via the front-panel rotary selector with dedicated knobs for the primary effect parameter — reverb decay time, delay time, modulation rate — providing hands-on control of the most musically significant variable without requiring menu navigation. BPM tap tempo is provided by a dedicated tap button that the user hits on the quarter note of the music, with the processor calculating the interval and locking the tempo-relative effects — delay, echo, and groove repeat — to the detected BPM. A MIDI clock input allows the BPM to be synchronized to an external MIDI sequencer or DJ software master tempo, eliminating the manual tap-in requirement for producers using the FX unit in a production context. The dry/wet blend knob on the front panel provides continuous morphing between the unprocessed signal and the fully processed signal — a control that allows the same knob to function as a build-and-drop effect tool when automated to the beat during a mix. Dual analog bypass relays maintain the complete bypass of the electronics when the unit is switched off, ensuring zero signal degradation through the signal path in bypass mode.
