The Mixstory Sync Ableton Push-Style DJ Controller is a grid-based performance instrument designed for the producer-DJ who works within Ableton Live’s session view workflow — launching clips, triggering samples, automating parameters, and performing live mashups from a 64-pad grid that provides the simultaneous access to musical content that keyboard-based clip navigation cannot approach. Mixstory’s 64 RGB pressure-sensitive pads each respond to both the binary state of whether they are pressed and the continuous variable of how hard they are pressed — velocity sensitivity that translates to volume and filter dynamics in Drum Rack instruments, expression depth in melodic instruments, and attack variation in sample trigger responses. Each pad’s RGB illumination is independently controlled by Ableton Live through the USB MIDI connection, reflecting the clip state of the corresponding cell in the session grid — green for a launched clip, amber for a queued clip, red for a recording clip, and off for an empty slot — providing the complete session grid status in a single visual scan of the pad matrix. Eight macro knobs are mapped to the macro controls of the currently selected rack device, providing hands-on automation of up to eight simultaneous effect or instrument parameters — the standard performance control for live electronic music production that the Sync is designed to serve. A capacitive touch strip along the controller’s upper edge provides pitch bend, modulation, and step-sequence navigation depending on the current mode, with LED position indicators that show the current value across the strip’s length. The Mixstory Sync draws all operating power from the USB bus, requiring no external power supply in standard laptop performance use. All 64 pads, 8 macro knobs, touch strip, transport controls, and mode buttons are pre-mapped to Ableton Live in the included control surface script, requiring no manual MIDI mapping for standard use. Dimensions: 390mm × 280mm × 25mm. Weight: 1.4 kg.
