Mixstory’s 4-deck architecture places two primary decks in the standard layout with a secondary deck layer accessible via layer-switch buttons on each side, or via the dedicated 4-deck split mode that assigns a second pair of smaller jog wheels to the secondary decks. This dual-layer architecture provides full 4-deck control within a controller footprint that remains stageable on a standard 1200mm performance surface rather than requiring the extended table space that side-by-side 4-deck layouts demand. The dual 4.3-inch LCD screens — one per deck pair — display waveform, track information, BPM, key, and loop status for both active decks simultaneously in a split-screen layout. Each screen updates at 60 frames per second, providing the waveform scroll smoothness that fast scratching and beatmatching technique requires for accurate visual alignment. Thirty-two RGB-backlit performance pads, arranged as two 4×4 grids, provide independently mappable hot cues, sample triggers, loop jump points, and beat-jump intervals for all four decks.
