The Mixstory Signal DJ DI Box Dual Channel is a professional direct injection box designed for the DJ performing in live sound reinforcement environments — converting the unbalanced RCA or TRS output of a DJ mixer to the balanced XLR signal that front-of-house mixing consoles, venue PA systems, and recording interfaces require for noise-free signal delivery at the cable distances that typical venue infrastructure involves. The fundamental problem the Mixstory Signal solves is the ground loop — the difference in electrical ground potential between the DJ’s power supply and the venue’s PA system power supply, which produces a hum in the audio signal whose frequency is 50 or 60 Hz depending on the mains frequency of the country. This ground loop hum is the single most common audio quality problem encountered by mobile and touring DJs performing through venue PA systems, and it is entirely eliminated by transformer isolation. Mixstory uses Jensen audio transformers in the Signal — the same transformer brand specified in professional studio DI boxes at several times the Signal’s price point. Jensen’s audio transformers provide the combination of extended low-frequency response, wide dynamic range, and high-frequency linearity that inferior budget DI transformers cannot match, ensuring that the DJ’s signal arrives at the front-of-house console with its full audio quality intact and its ground-related noise completely eliminated. Both channels of the dual-channel Signal are fully independent — independent Jensen transformers, independent ground lift switches, independent 20 dB pad switches, and independent balanced XLR outputs — allowing stereo DJ signals to be handled through a single unit without compromise on either channel. The 20 dB pad switch on each channel accommodates the nominal +4 dBu output level of professional DJ mixers alongside the consumer -10 dBV level of compact controllers. Phantom or battery power operation allows use with both phantom-powered PA systems and battery-only stage setups. Dimensions: 160mm × 100mm × 55mm. Weight: 0.55 kg.
