The Mixstory Flight DJ Controller Flight Case is a rigid protective case for touring and gigging DJs who transport a DJ controller to performances and require the impact, compression, and moisture protection of a flight case rather than the minimal protection of a soft gig bag. The threshold between adequate and inadequate protection for a DJ controller is the threshold between surviving a van load and not — a controller transported in a fabric gig bag can sustain damage from the compression of heavy equipment loaded on top, from edge impacts when sliding into a vehicle, and from rain exposure during load-in and load-out. The Mixstory Flight case construction uses 9mm birch plywood panels with aluminum edging and steel butterfly latches, providing the combination of structural rigidity and weatherproofing that flight case construction has been proven to deliver across decades of professional touring use. The custom foam interior — two-layer high-density polyethylene foam with a contoured cut that cradles the controller on its base and sides — distributes impact loads across the foam surface rather than concentrating them on the controller’s chassis corners and protruding jog wheels. Mixstory supplies the Flight case with a universal cut for controllers up to 600mm wide and 400mm deep, covering the majority of current 2-deck DJ controllers including all Mixstory controller models and the most popular competitive controllers. The foam’s base layer provides a 40mm impact absorption buffer below the controller; the lid foam provides a 25mm buffer above. Ball corner protectors at all eight case corners protect the highest-impact points of the case exterior from the denting and delamination that unprotected corners develop after repeated transport. Butterfly latches on both front and rear panels lock with independent keys. Stackable recessed feet allow multiple cases to be stacked without the top case resting on the hardware of the case below.
